The difference between ritual and ceremony is that a ritual is done on a regular basis and a ceremony is a special one time occasion.

Various Entering and Leaving Rituals

Anonymous:"When I return home (or you return home and I am already there), you shall stop whatever you are doing and assume a comfortable kneeling position, hands behind you, shoulders back, knees spread approximately one foot, and head bowed in submission. There you will wait, in silence, for my acknowledgment and order before moving. You shall do this by the front door if you have advance notice of my return, or wherever you happen to be in the home when I return without notice."

House Corwyn: When the slave returns from work and enters the house, he/she will seek me out and perform a kowtow, rising only when I have recognized him/her.

If I return home and the slave is in the house, the slave will immediately seek me out and perform the kowtow and wait for recognition to return to what he/she was previously doing.

When escorting me, the slave will always open doors for me and wait for me to precede him/her UNLESS the slave is carrying a large number of parcels, in which case, I will open the door, and the slave may precede me ON MY ORDER.

When exiting the car, the slave will exit the vehicle and open the dominant's door.

When entering the car, the slave will unlock the dominant's door, then close and lock it before entering the vehicle himself.

When shopping, the dominant is assisted into the vehicle BEFORE the parcels are placed in the trunk unless the dominant gives a contrary instruction.

When entering or exiting a dwelling or other building with the dominant, the door is held by the slave who bows (unless this is in front of vanilla people) as the dominant enters.
